Amore Mio, a gaff schooner built in 1964, is a vessel of charm and tradition, despite her modest size. She is an excellent example for those wishing to learn gaff-rig sailing techniques, thanks to her simplicity, balance and functionality.
Built with Honduras mahogany planking over an oak keel and frames, Amore Mio features a clipper bow and a bowsprit—elements that give her a distinctive appearance and an elegant performance under sail.
Over the years, the schooner has had several owners. She once served as the liveaboard vessel of the well-known Milanese skipper Marco De Amici, before he became owner of the schooner Pandora. She later passed into the hands of Lino Tirelli.
In 2006, Amore Mio underwent restoration work carried out by Centro Nautico Marina Uno in Imperia, ensuring her functionality and preserving her original beauty. Since the late 1990s, the schooner has been used for sail training cruises, dedicated to the teaching of traditional seamanship.
